Goa Dabolim Airport

Goa Dabolim Airport is an international airport providing both domestic & international flight services to a number of renowned airline operators across the world. The airport is located in Dabolim, which is a small town around 4 Kms from Vasco da Gama and 30 Kms from the capital city of Goa, Panjim. Goa’s only airport, operates in a civil enclave situated in a military base called as INS Hansa.

Dabolim Airport was established during the reign of the Portuguese rule in 1950s on an area of just around 250 acres. Till 1961, the airport acted as the main hub for servicing the needs of the Portuguese local airlines known as TAIP(Transportes Aéreos da Índia Portuguesa) and in 1962 the Indian Navy took control of the airport. Later in 1966, Indian Airlines were invited to operate civilian flights in Goa. Since then, the airport has undergone numerous changes in terms of its infrastructure and services.

The Dabolim Airport earlier had two individual terminals for servicing domestic & international flights and now it has been mordernized to a integrated 4-level terminal building along with a multi-level car parking facility. The building is built on a area of 63000 sqmt made of aesthetic glass and steel structure. Multiple elevators & escalators are in place to reach different levels of the terminal. The airport has a capacity to accommodate around 2750 passengers during peak hours and facilities inside include check-in/immigration/customs counters, boarding bridges, baggage handling, transit lounge, security hold facilities and others.
