Ashwem Beach, Goa
Ashwem Beach is a small beach located around 32 kms from Panaji, Goa. It is one of those quieter, peaceful and secluded beaches in Goa and is considered one of the cleanest beaches in North Goa. Neighbouring beaches include the Morjim & Arambol beaches.
The Ashwem Beach is a flat sandy beach with soft silvery sands and covered by lush palm groves. The beach stretches over a vast area with soft gentle waves kissing its sandy shorelines along the coastline. The place is also home to a species of turtle known as the olive ridley turtle. Irrespective of its status as a secluded beach, it still has its own identity with the calm & peaceful atmosphere that it presents to its visitors.
The beach offers plenty of shacks, restaurants & cafe for visitors to choose from and serves some really nice seafoods along with drinks & other refreshments. Accommodation is also available in the form of some very good resorts, although the most popular mode of accommodation here are the beach huts.
Tourists can simply relax, enjoy sun-baths, watch the sunsets or even go for a swim in the gentle shallow waters of the sea as it is considered safe for swimming. There are also spas nearby where one can enjoy full body massages as well.
